How would you describe the Manuela experience — restaurant, gallery, or both?
Manuela is first and foremost a restaurant, but art is very much at the heart of the restaurant, and what creates a dining experience like no other. With exceptional artworks adorning our walls, and the restaurant itself composed of specially commissioned pieces, art is embedded in the experience.
Is Manuela family-friendly?
Is a reservation required at Manuela, or are walk-ins welcome?
Yes, we take walk-ins at every service, but we recommend reservations to avoid disappointment.

Does Manuela have air conditioning for hot summer days in SoHo?
Yes, in the hot days of summer Manuela provides a cool space with air conditiioning to retreat to in the heart of SoHo. Find us on the corner of Prince and Wooster.

There is no dress code for Manuela NY, but if unsure, we recommend smart-casual attire. If you have any specific questions about attire for special events, please contact us.

How does Manuela approach sustainability and food waste reduction?
We are committed to sustainability in all its forms and are proud to be the only restaurant in Manhattan with an in-house composter called ‘The Rocket.’ Learn more about our composting efforts.

Do I need to make a reservation?

What kind of food do you serve?
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Is Manuela’s menu suitable for vegetarians and plant-based diners?
Yes, our menu features vegetarian options, which are marked. Our menu is seasonal and incorporates local fruits and vegetables, but most of our dishes feature animal protein. Our server can help guide you through options.
Does Manuela use locally sourced ingredients?
Yes, we source all our ingredients as locally as possible with locally sourced produce, proteins from the Tri-State area, and seafood from dayboats in Montauk and Maine.
Does Manuela offer weekend brunch, and is a reservation recommended?
Yes, we offer brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 3:30 pm. Walk-ins are welcome but we recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment.
Does Manuela participate in NYC Restaurant Week?
Yes, we participate in NYC Restaurant Week twice a year for both the winter and summer editions. You can keep up with our offerings on our Restaurant Week page.
Are there lighter dishes or seasonal menu options that work well in hot weather?
At Manuela we are led by the seasons and have a significant number of plant-based dishes on our menu including lighter salads and grains. There will always be a selection of salads and sandwiches on our lunch menu, as well as salads and plant-based dishes on our dinner menu. For those looking for protein, you will always find a raw section on the menu featuring seasonal fish crudos, oysters and more for a refreshing start to your meal. Which drinks or non-alcoholic options are available on hot days?
Whether it’s an iced coffee for a quick stop, an affogato to finish your meal or one of our selection of refreshing spritzes, NA beverages or an ice cold beer or glass of rose – there are plenty of options. Does Manuela offer takeaway or to-go orders?
We don’t offer takeaway or to go orders as standard to ensure quality consistency due to some dishes not travelling well, however we can sometimes accommodate on a case by case basis, so please do feel free to request from the team.
Can I order drinks or desserts to go from Manuela?
We can offer non alcoholic drinks to go. Due to many of our desserts having components that might melt, we don’t offer to go desserts as standard, however specific requests may be accomodated on a case by case basis.
Can I host a birthday dinner at Manuela?
Yes, absolutely – we have many people choosing to celebrate their birthdays with us at Manuela. Whether you choose to hire our private dining room to make your birthday extra special, or a table in our restaurant the team will be delighted to host you for your birthday dinner.

Absolutely, we welcome guests bringing their own cake and charge $5 a slice, we recommend making a note in the booking so we can arrange for candles should you wish.. Alternatively, do let us know if you’d like us to put candles on one of our own desserts.

Yes, many people choose to celebrate special occasions such as engagements and anniversaries with us at Manuela, with oysters and showstopping dishes available alongside a carefully curated wine program our menu lends itself to big moments.

Can we book for groups or private events?
What is the capacity of the private dining room?
Our private dining room seats up to 28 with our existing furniture, or up to 31 with hired furniture. For more information, check out our Private Events & Dining page.
Can a bespoke menu be arranged for private events?
We have a variety of set menus to choose from for our private events, but our events team are delighted to work with you to accommodate any bespoke requests.
Is a full buyout of restaurant available for private events?

What distinguishes Manuela’s private dining room experience?
An experience in Manuela’s Private Room is unique; guests dine around a striking 7-meter bespoke mosaic table by acclaimed artist Rashid Johnson, anchored by his brilliant red custom rug beneath. The main backdrop is a monumental wall-drawing by Pat Steir, while a curtain and room divider created exclusively for Manuela by renowned artist and designer Duro Olowu lend both privacy and character. The Private Room has its own entrance for those wishing to enter with maximum discretion.
Children, Families and Pets
Are high chairs or booster seats available for children?
Yes, we have a number of high chairs available for children, to guarantee availability please make a note on your booking that you will require one.
Can families bring strollers, and is there somewhere to store them during the meal?
Families are more than welcome to bring strollers, however our storage space is limited so we would advise letting us know in advance if you plan to bring a stroller so we can do our best to acommodate.

What is Manuela’s relationship with Hauser & Wirth?
Manuela is an Artfarm property, the sister business to Hauser & Wirth, and was also founded by Iwan and Manuela Wirth. We highly recommend a visit to Hauser & Wirth Wooster Street when you visit. You will find specially commissioned site-specific artworks by Hauser & Wirth artists such as Louise Bourgeois and Mika Rottenberg across the restaurant.
Does the artwork on display change regularly?
Whilst some of the artwork may change from time to time, our specially-commissioned artworks were created for the restaurant and are therefore permanently on view. The gallery have regularly changing exhibitions, however, often featuring works by the artists who adorn our walls.
