Dining in New York City for the World Cup

The FIFA World Cup is coming to the New York City area, and we could not be more excited! With games starting on June 11th, the first NYC match will kick off on June 13th (Brazil v. Morocco). Make Mauela a touchstone for your stay. Located in the bustling SoHo neighborhood, it’s the perfect place to meet up with friends, relax with a cocktail, or throw a private dinner for your World Cup crew. We’re also located in and near iconic NYC attractions like the cobblestoned Cast-Iron District, the Elizabeth Street Garden, and the SoHo Playhouse.

The World Cup is a special time where friends and family unite to view the games together. Make this time even more memorable for your group by booking our private dining room or a group dinner. If you have a larger group, get in touch about an exclusive buyout of the entire space. We can accommodate both casual and formal gatherings, and the same goes for our menu options.

Do you need tickets to go to World Cup games?

Yes, you will need to buy a ticket to go to any of the 2026 World Cup games. More information can be found on FIFA’s ticketing page.

Where are the World Cup Games being held around New York City?

All games will be held at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (also known as the New York New Jersey Stadium). For more information on how to plan your trip, check out the stadium’s World Cup page.

 

Which World Cup Games are in New York City?

There will be 8 World Cup games held at the MetLife Stadium, including the tournament’s final match! Here is the schedule of games that will take place:
June 13: Brazil v. Morocco
June 16: France v. Senegal
June 22: Norway v. Senegal
June 25: Ecuador v. Germany
June 27: Panama v. England
June 30: Round of 32
July 5: Round of 16
July 19: Final

Is Manuela near any of the World Cup games?

Manuela is about a 25-minute drive from the MetLife Stadium and about an hour by public transit. You can take the E—about a 6-minute walk from the restaurant—to the Port Authority. From there, you will need to get a bus ticket to Paterson Ave at Hackensack St, then buy a transfer to a bus to the Stadium Lot G-17. Please note that these times do not account for traffic or delays, so it’s best to check times as you get closer to the matches.

How crowded will New York City be for the World Cup?

New York City is expected to see 1.2 million additional visitors on top of regular summer crowds. We advise planning ahead and making a booking to dine with us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
